Several years ago, Jazimina was searching for local music and came across the story of Elbridge Locke, a Stoddard native who spent the Civil War writing and performing songs in Union Army camps across the country. Jazimina and Gordon developed a program using three of Locke’s original songs, as well as other songs from the period. This was first performed at the Apple Hill Center for Chamber Music in 2018 [LISTEN].
This June 20th concert will be the first time the music of Locke has “come home”.
